We've done contingent search. We watched it leave clients forever needing us, because the incentives were misaligned. Contingent search wants to place someone and get paid. The faster the placement, the better the economics. That's not a talent strategy, that's a transaction.
We've done retained search. It's gold plating on contingent. It helps the firm get paid faster and guarantees more of the money, but it doesn't fundamentally improve the odds of making the right hire. We learned that quickly.
We hated both options. So we built something different. It's simply the right way to build a talent organization, and we believe it should be the only way.
